“I had spent years with stomachaches and daily vomiting. Dr. Judy connected my constant stomach issues with an underlining anxiety that I had been experiencing since childhood. Once that connection was established, I have been able to find relief from the constant upset stomach and daily vomiting. I no longer take any medication for my stomach issues and have learned techniques to manage my anxiety. My sessions with Dr. Judy have greatly improved my quality of life..
Fridays: 9:30am – 2:00pm
Initial consultation: 1 1/2- 2 hours
This is the intake session that focuses on two areas: your immediate concern (i.e., what bring you to the office) and your general health and life situation. There will be a physical examination, pulse and tongue examination based on Chinese Medicine diagnostic procedure. I’ll answer any question that you have about Chinese Medicine and the counselling approaches that I use.
Follow-up evaluation and treatment session: 60-75 minutes
On your second visit, I will give you an evaluation report based on our initial consultation. I will explain my findings and will propose a course of treatment including Chinese Medicine treatment or/and counselling. The frequency and duration of the treatment are discussed. You will also receive your first acupuncture treatment.
Counselling and Acupuncture integrated treatment Session: 90 minutes
We will do both acupuncture and counselling in these sessions. The time split is usually 45 minutes for each, but may also vary depending on individual needs.
Consecutive acupuncture session: 45-60 minutes
Based on what we discover during the first and second visits, you will come in for a series of acupuncture treatments. Your acupuncture sessions may include acupuncture (needling), cupping (application of glass vials), acutonics (tuning forks), acupressure (pressure applied to acupuncture points).
You will pay either by cash or cheque, whichever is more convenient for you, at the end of each treatment session. Some extended medical plans cover acupuncture treatments and counselling; inquire with your insurance provider regarding how to submit receipts for reimbursement.
